How do you turn a public open day into something a community actually wants to walk into and take part in? It’s a harder question than it sounds, and it was the one behind this project. Working with Turley on an open day for Newcastle Council, we took care of all the print, producing a complete set of display and engagement materials ready for the public.
A Complete Event Kit
We made the full set. A1 A-frame posters to catch attention and draw people in, an A0 vinyl banner to anchor the space and make it unmissable, cafe barriers to define the area, a welcome stand to greet visitors as they arrived and feedback form boxes to gather what people had to say. On their own each is a simple thing. Together they turn an empty room into an open day people can move through, read and respond to.
Why It Has to Be Right First Time
Event work carries a kind of pressure that not all print does. There’s a fixed date, a booked venue and a public who will turn up whether or not the materials are ready, so there’s no room for a reprint or a near enough. We produced and delivered everything ready to go, checked and complete, so the day ran exactly as planned. The reward with a project like this is watching a set of separate pieces come together into one coherent experience. Someone notices an A-frame, follows it to the banner, steps past the barriers, is welcomed at the stand and leaves having dropped their thoughts in a feedback box. That whole journey is print doing quiet, useful work. If you’ve got a public event or community open day on the horizon and you want materials that pull people in and make responding easy, that’s exactly the kind of work we’re set up for. Get in touch and we’ll help you get it ready for the day.
