How Does It Work?

iPrintPost has been designed to make planning and delivering direct mail campaigns simple, efficient and transparent. Instead of coordinating multiple suppliers for data, print production and distribution, the platform brings everything together in one place.

How iPrintPost Works: Map, Print, and Post Your Targeted Direct Mail Campaigns

The Process

Step 1: Create Your Account

The first step is to register for an iPrintPost account. This allows you to access the campaign planning platform and manage all of your submissions in one place.

    Your account allows you to:

    • Plan and submit new direct mail campaigns

    • Store and review previous campaign submissions

    • Edit or update campaign details before production

    • Quickly repeat successful distributions

Registering takes only a moment and gives you full access to the campaign planning tools.

Once registered, you’ll have your own dashboard where you can create new campaigns, review previous submissions, and make edits whenever needed. Having a central account also makes it much easier to manage repeat campaigns and track the areas you have previously targeted.

Step 2: Select Your Delivery Area

Once you are logged into the platform, you can begin planning your campaign by selecting the areas where you want your marketing delivered.

Using the interactive mapping tool, you can define your campaign area by postcode, radius, or custom mapped zones. This gives you complete control over where your leaflets or mailers will be distributed, ensuring you focus on the locations most relevant to your business.

As you define your delivery area, the system automatically calculates the number of addresses within the selected zone. This gives you immediate visibility on campaign scale and allows you to adjust coverage based on your marketing objectives and budget.

You can also identify whether addresses are residential or business properties, helping ensure your campaign reaches the right audience.

        Postcode Mapping

        Precise Postcode Mapping

Target exactly the households you need with accurate postcode mapping. iPrintPost allows you to select specific postcode sectors, ensuring your door drop and direct mail campaigns reach the right audience every time.

        Radius Targeting

        Custom Radius Targeting

Define your delivery area using radius targeting around key addresses or project sites. Perfect for planning consultations, property launches, or local stakeholder engagement, this method ensures complete coverage in the areas that matter most.

        Specific Areas

        Flexible Area Editing

Adjust boundaries and delivery lines easily without resubmitting the full campaign. Update your target area quickly when consultation zones change, saving time and maintaining accuracy for every door drop or direct mail project.

        Step 3: Build Your Campaign

After selecting your delivery areas, you can begin building the details of your campaign within the platform.

The system accurately calculates the number of households and businesses within your chosen zones, giving you a clear understanding of the campaign’s reach. This ensures you know exactly how many recipients will receive your marketing materials.

From here, you can input your campaign brief – including your chosen print format, quantity, and any special requirements for your distribution. By combining precise address counts with your campaign specifications, you can plan your direct mail or leaflet campaign efficiently and confidently.

This approach puts you in control of your campaign while making it simple to move seamlessly to print and distribution.

        Step 4: Upload Your Artwork

Once the distribution has been planned, the next step is to upload the artwork for your campaign.

iPrintPost supports a variety of printed marketing formats, allowing businesses to run campaigns using materials that best suit their message. These commonly include:

        • Leaflets

        • Postcards

        • Folded mailers

        • Custom printed marketing pieces

If you already have print-ready artwork, it can be uploaded directly through the platform. If you need assistance preparing files or developing designs, our team can help ensure your materials are suitable for professional print production.

Step 5: Review and Approve Your Campaign

Once your campaign brief has been submitted, our team quickly generates a detailed quote – usually within one hour.

This provides a clear overview of your campaign, including:

        • Selected delivery areas

        • Number of businesses and households within the zones

        • Chosen print formats and quantities

        • Total campaign cost

The quote gives you full transparency, ensuring you know exactly what your campaign includes before moving forward.

If any adjustments are needed – such as changes to delivery areas, formats, or quantities – these can be made easily before production begins. Once you approve the quote, your campaign moves seamlessly into print and distribution.

Need to Make Amends After Submission? No Problem

Once your campaign has been submitted, you can log into your account at any time and adjust the range of your distribution. This includes expanding or refining delivery areas for households and businesses, ensuring your marketing reaches the right recipients without delay.

By allowing post-submission adjustments, iPrintPost saves time, reduces errors, and keeps your campaigns accurate and compliant. This flexibility is especially useful for planning consultations, property marketing, or any situation where boundaries and targets may shift.

Key benefits of post-submission editing include:

        • Quickly refine delivery areas without resubmitting the entire campaign

        • Add or remove streets to reflect new or changed boundaries

        • Ensure your marketing reaches exactly the right audience

        • Reduce wasted print and delivery costs by targeting only what’s needed

With this level of control, you can manage your campaigns confidently, knowing that changes can be made easily at any stage.

        Artwork Guideline

        FAQs

        Will you check my artwork?

We carry out a basic pre-flight check to ensure:

        • Correct size

        • Bleed included

        • Resolution appears suitable

We do not proofread content or check spelling unless artwork services are requested.

What happens if my artwork is not set up correctly?

If we identify issues, we will contact you before printing. Minor fixes may incur an artwork charge.

Can you design or amend my artwork?

Yes – we offer a full in-house design and artwork service. Please contact us for a quotation.

        Accepted Files

We recommend supplying artwork as a high-resolution, print-ready PDF (PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 preferred).

        We also accept:

        • Adobe InDesign (.indd – packaged with fonts and links)

        • Adobe Illustrator (.ai – fonts outlined)

        • Adobe Photoshop (.psd – flattened where possible)

        • High-resolution TIFF or JPEG (300dpi at final size)

Microsoft Office files (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher) can be accepted but may require additional artwork setup and cannot guarantee accurate colour reproduction.

        Colour Mode

What colour mode should my artwork be supplied in?
All artwork must be supplied in CMYK colour mode, not RGB.

RGB is used for screens and will convert to CMYK for print, which may cause colour shifts. To ensure accurate results, convert your artwork to CMYK before submitting.

        Profiles

Which colour profile should I use?
        We recommend using:

        • Coated paper: FOGRA39 / ISO Coated v2

        • Uncoated paper: FOGRA29 / ISO Uncoated

If you are unsure, please contact us before exporting your file.

Will colours match exactly to my screen?
Printed colours will differ slightly from what you see on screen due to monitor calibration and colour space differences. For brand-critical work, we recommend supplying Pantone references, RALs, hard copy samples you’ve had previously or requesting a printed proof.

        Bleed

Do I need to include bleed?
Yes. All artwork must include 5mm bleed on all sides.

This means any background colours, images, or design elements that run to the edge of the page must extend 5mm beyond the trim size.

        What is a safe zone?
Keep all important text and logos at least 5mm – 10mm inside the trim edge to avoid risk of trimming variation.

        Multi Page Documents

How should I supply multi-page artwork?

Please supply multi-page documents as a single PDF in page order, set up as individual pages (not spreads), unless specifically requested. We will

        Include:

        • Correct page size

        • 3mm bleed on all pages

        • Consistent margins

        • Crop Marks

For stitched booklets, ensure page counts are divisible by 4.

        Material Choice

        Does paper choice affect artwork?
Yes. Different materials affect colour and finish:

        • Uncoated papers appear softer and slightly less vibrant.

        • Coated papers produce sharper detail and more vibrant colours.

        • Recycled stocks may slightly alter colour tone.

        • Large format materials may require higher resolution artwork.

If you need guidance selecting the right stock for your design, we’re happy to advise.

        Text Size

What is the minimum readable text size?
        As a general guide:

        • Standard print: Minimum 6pt

        • Reversed (white on colour): Minimum 7–8pt

        • Large format (viewed from distance): Text size should scale accordingly

Avoid very thin fonts below 7pt, as they may not reproduce clearly.

        Accesibility

How can I make my artwork more accessible?

        We recommend:

        • Strong colour contrast between text and background

        • Minimum 10–12pt body text where possible

        • Avoiding long passages in all caps

        • Not relying on colour alone to convey meaning

        • Clear, legible font choices

If your materials need to meet specific accessibility standards, please let us know.

        QR Codes + Links

What size should QR codes be?
        Minimum recommended size:

        • 20 x 20mm for standard print

        • Larger for posters or outdoor materials

Ensure strong contrast (black on white preferred).

Do I need to test my QR code?
Yes. Always test QR codes before submitting artwork. We can generate static QR codes for you. Ensure your QR code does not require a subscription to stay active.

        Can I include clickable links?
Clickable links only function in digital PDFs. For print, ensure URLs are short and easy to type.

        Images

        What image resolution is required?

        • Standard print: 300ppi at final size

        • Large format: minimum 150ppi at final size

Low-resolution images (72ppi web images) will appear pixelated in print.

How can I check image resolution?
Check the effective resolution in your design software at 100% scale.

        Vectors Vs Rasters

What is the difference between vector and raster artwork?

        • Vector graphics (logos, icons, text) are scalable without losing quality.

        • Raster images (photographs) are resolution dependent.

We strongly recommend supplying logos as vector files (AI, EPS, or outlined PDF) to ensure sharp reproduction at any size.
